Plating Thickness Analysis

In manufacturing quality control and performance evaluation, it is often very important to determine accurately the thickness of surface coating/plating layers.   EMSL can measure the plating or coating thickness using various methods, such as, cross-sectional scanning electron microscopy (ASTM B748), anodic coating and other non-conductive coatings using eddy-current method (ASTM B244), non-destructive XRF method - X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (ASTM B568), and surface analysis and depth profiling using glow-discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GD-OES), etc.
